Baby Alexander, on the dot at 9:09, on 09/09/09 By MELINDA MAWDSLEY/The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel Wednesday, September 09, 2009 Alexander Robert Orient had no idea how uncanny his timing was. Alexander was born at 9:09 a.m. on Sept. 9, 2009, meaning his birth certificate will forever read 09:09 on 09/09/09. He could not have cared less, wearing a light blue hat and screaming at the top of his lungs for food Wednesday evening. But his parents, Patrick and Deana Orient of Grand Junction, were in disbelief about their son's birthday. Grandmother Nancy Orient holds less than one-day-old baby Alexander as his mother Deana Orient watches at St. Mary's Hospital. The boy, whose name has nine letters in it, was born at 9:09 am 9-9-9. When Orient went into labor at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, all she was thinking about was delivering a healthy baby, she said. She had no idea about the date until St. Mary's Hospital physicians wrapped a bracelet on her hand with "09/09/09" on it. About two minutes after Alexander was delivered by Caesarean section, the Orients were notified that their son's time of birth was officially 9:09. Alexander was born 2 1/2 weeks early. "Now, it's really sinking in," Deana Orient said of her son's numerically unique birthday. |
